We are delighted to welcome Zach Marshall to the AV Logistics team as our new Director of Sales-West Coast. Zach is based in Temecula, CA, and brings a wealth of knowledge and business development experience from working in many roles throughout his time in the industry. His area of concentration includes the west coast states and as far east as Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana.
After college, a friend asked me to help him with a logistics firm in Beijing. I was there less than a year because a family illness brought me back home to the States. One good thing about the experience was that I met my wife while living there. She is originally from the Philippines.
I worked in finance for a few years before returning to transportation. I first joined C.H. Robinson in transportation sales and worked as a global account manager. I was working on the domestic side, but when I learned about their global textiles logistics group, my Chinese experience made me a good fit to move from my position in domestic to an international global account manager for freight forwarding. Eventually, I left for an opportunity with Werner Enterprises, but I was recruited away by Schneider to be a territory sales manager. I eventually became their director of business development for their intermodal asset division.
I am intrigued by the prospect of working for an asset-based entity associated with MEDLOG and MSC. I see amazing potential and opportunity with Coreviz and how it can help customers streamline operations and contain costs. I am also impressed by the western expansion of C&K Trucking, AV Logistics’ drayage partner. They show tremendous potential for growing and expanding drayage and intermodal operations on the West Coast.
The industry is dynamic, and even the “new” normal keeps changing. For example, issues surrounding AB5, emissions, and sustainability are an increasing concern in my area. They will continue to evolve as our team grows and expands.
My approach is consultative–let’s find the answers and help customers find synergies. We must always do our best for customers; if we don’t have the answer, we must point them in the right direction.
I have a four-year-old daughter who keeps me pretty busy! Living in SoCal, I love the beach, golf, and traveling.
